There are many convenience stores in Japan, which have a great selection of items. Also, you can buy delicious and reasonable sake there. I introduce some recommended ones in this article.
1. HAKKAISAN（八海山）
HAKKAISAN is one of the famous sake brands in Japan. Also, HAKKAISAN BREWERY CO.,LTD. is located in Uonuma City, Niigata Prefecture. It’s a widely known rice-producing district.
I bought the refined sake called Sei-shu at Seven-Eleven. This is a reasonably priced sake amongst all of HAKKAISAN. This Sei-shu is made from domestic rice, koji (malted rice), and distilled alcohol.

2. SAWANOTSURU YAMADANISHIKI（沢の鶴 山田錦）
YAMADANISHIKI is one of the rice varieties. It’s mainly used for sake brewing and called the “king of sake rice”. Also, Sawanotsuru Co Ltd. is located in Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture.
I bought the Junmai sake of YAMADANISHIKI at Family Mart. Junmai means “only sake”. This Junmai sake is made from domestic rice, koji (malted rice) and doesn’t contain distilled alcohol.

3. MIO SPARKLING SAKE（澪）
Sparkling sake, MIO is a new type of sake made from domestic rice, koji (malted rice). It’s low alcohol, easy to drink, and goes well with food. This sake is made by TAKARA SHUZO CO.,LTD. located in Kyoto City.
I bought MIO at LAWSON. I recommend that you chill it well in the refrigerator and drink it. You can enjoy its fruity aroma and sweetness.

今年、（2021年7〜8月）に東京オリンピックパラリンピックが開催されました。まだ約4ヶ月前の出来事なのですが、遥か昔のことのように感じます。東京で開催されたのにも関わらず、無観客となってしまったことはとても残念でしたが、テレビを通してたくさん楽しませていただきました。普段テレビはほとんど見ないのですが、オリンピックは夢中になって観戦していました。
そんなオリンピック期間中、話題になったニュースがありました。それは、日本に訪れた海外の記者たちが、日本のコンビニに夢中になっている、というものでした。例えば、こちらの記事です。（→五輪に来た外国人がコンビニで｢ハマったもの」）
日本のコンビニは便利（店舗数も多く24時間営業）で、品揃えが豊富で、かつ、商品の質も顧客のニーズに合わせてどんどん良くなっているように感じます。そんなコンビニに訪日外国人が惹かれるのは最もなことだと思います。
そして今回は、便利、豊富な品揃え、品質、以外の魅力である「日本独特の商品」である日本酒にスポットを当てることにしました。コロナ禍によって東京都では、一時期飲食店での酒類の提供が禁止要請されていたこともあり、日本酒の売り上げが落ち込んでしまったのではないでしょうか。
私はお酒はあまり飲みませんが、日本酒を自分で買って飲みブログを書くことで、少しでも日本の食文化に貢献出来れば、と思いました。また、コンビニを選んだのも、オリンピックの一件から海外の方々にも興味を持ってもらえるのでは、と思ったからです。「日本ではコンビニで気軽に美味しい日本酒が買えますよ」ということを広めたいです。
